Volunteer Opportunities

We are so excited. Last-minute (6 weeks prior to the tournament), we (Celina and Andreas) decided to register for the Fort Worth Invitational at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, TX and join 1,500+ volunteers for Memorial Day weekend 2018. We got lucky and made it onto our favorite committee: Player Transportation. We only have time to volunteer during tournament weekend, but are still excited to join the team there and help out as much as we can. It will be great to meet new volunteers and leadership in a different part of the country.

Maybe some of the volunteers will be able to join us in Player Transportation  later in the year at some of the other tournaments (e.g. the Charles Schwab Cup Championship at Phoenix Country Club in November).

About the Fort Worth Invitational

The Fort Worth Invitational has a long history. It goes back all the way to 1946, when it was played for the 1st time.

Many of you may remember the tournament as 'Crowne Plaza Invitational' from 2006 until 2015, when the hotel chain was the title sponsor for the event. Later on, in 2016, it became the 'Dean & DeLuca Invitational', but the they pulled out after 2 years and for now, the event is called the 'Fort Worth Invitational', with local companies such as American Airlines, AT&T, XTO Energy (part of Exxon) and BNSF Railway sponsoring the tournament. Just as in past years, the proceeds of the event will benefit local charities.

Either way, if you are a Fort Worth Invitational volunteer, the name of the tournament doesn't matter as much as the cause it supports. Thank you for all your hard work and time you dedicate to the event.
