Volunteer Opportunities

The LPGA is returning to Los Angeles, presenting the Hugel JTBC LA Open at Wilshire Country Club in Los Angeles in April.

Our personal spring schedule is packed and we may not be able to help out at the HUGEL JTBC LA Open this year.  However, the tournament reached out to us - which is really flattering - and asked, if we can post some volunteer information for this event here on www.golf-volunteers.com.

First of all, if you decide to volunteer, here is what the volunteer package includes:

  • 1 official tournament shirt and head-wear
  • 1 volunteer parking pass for the duration of the tournament
  • 2 grounds tickets (to give to friends/family
  • Breakfast/Lunch during each shift

2018 HUGEL JTBC LA Open

The 2018 LPGA HUGEL JTBC LA Open will be held from April 16 - 22, 2018 at Wilshire Country Club in Los Angeles, CA.

Volunteer Committee Descriptions

      • Caddies

         Distribute and gather caddie bibs and towels, register professionals' caddies and manage the caddie tent.

        Committee Days: Monday - Sunday

      • Concessions

         Assist the Catering Service Provider in running the concessions stands located throughout the tournament grounds (requires ability to stand for long periods of time).

        Committee Days: Wednesday - Sunday.

      • Golf Carts

         Oversee the check-out (am) and check-in (pm) process of all tournament use golf carts.

        Committee Days: Wednesday - Sunday

      • Hospitality

         Check credentials, distribute wristbands, and provide general assistance at all hospitality locations.
        Committee Days: Thursday - Sunday

      • Leaderboards

         Responsible for updating the manual leaderboard on the 18th hole.

        Committee Days: Thursday - Sunday

      • Marshals

        Provide crowd control and enforce golf etiquette among spectators.

        Committee Days: Thursday – Sunday

      • Merchandise

        Manage merchandise sales, including customer service, merchandise display and sales transactions.

        Committee Days: Monday - Sunday

      • Parking

        Assist Parking Service Provider in parking operations, such as directing cars and collecting money.

        Committee Days: Wednesday - Sunday

      • Player Services

        LPGA player registration and management of locker room (females and invitation only).

        Committee Days: Monday - Sunday

      • Practice Range

        Manage practice ball supply and player ID signs on practice range.

        Committee Days: Monday - Sunday

      • •Pro-Am Caddie Coordination

        Assist in the assignment of local Pro-Am caddies to amateur players during the Pro-Am.

        Committee Days: Wednesday ONLY

      • Scoring Control

        Assist in the management of the LPGA's scoring system in scoring trailer.

        Committee Days: Thursday - Sunday

      • Shuttles

        Assist with transporting LPGA players and other designated personnel to and from the driving range.

        Committee Days: Monday - Sunday

      • Standard Bearers

        Walk all 18 holes with group of players while carrying standard (sign) and updating with players' scores.

        (Requires the ability to walk 18 holes, and lift and carry 20 pounds)

        Committee Days: Thursday - Sunday

      • Starters / Announcements

        Distribute scorecards and introduce players on the 1st and 10th tees.

        Committee Days: Thursday - Sunday

      • Television

        Assist The Golf Channel staff in production of telecast, must be able to walk up to 15 holes and have general knowledge of golf etiquette and scoring).

        Committee Days: Thursday - Sunday

      • Transportation

        Drive tournament professionals in tournament vehicles to and from select locations (should have knowledge of local roads).

        Committee Days: Arrival Sunday - Departure Monday

      • Volunteer Services

        Manage uniform distribution; staff volunteer area during Tournament week.

        Committee Days: Monday - Sunday

      • Walking Scorers

        Walk and record scores for LPGA players with the event's scoring system.

        Committee Days: Thursday - Sunday
